Gastroenterology Department

Gastroenterology & Hepatology:

Gastroenterology treats digestive system issues, diseases that affect the oesophagus, stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, liver, intestines, colon, and rectum; Hepatology treats the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and bile ducts.

Endoscopy: An endoscopy is a procedure to look inside your body. A long, thin tube with a small camera inside, called an endoscope, is passed into your body through a natural opening such as your mouth to collect tissue samples (biopsy) to test for diseases and conditions that may be causing anemia, bleeding, inflammation or diarrhea. It can also detect some cancers of the upper digestive system.

Colonoscopy:

Colonoscopy or coloscopy is a medical procedure that involves endoscopic examination of the large bowel and the distal portion of the small bowel to look for changes — such as swollen, irritated tissues, polyps or cancer — in the large intestine (colon) and rectum. During a colonoscopy, a long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum. A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows the doctor to view the inside of the entire colon.

Our doctors are highly experienced in the treatment of Gastrointestinal, Liver, Pancreato-biliary and Bowel Diseases.
